Let’s be honest—when a groom said to cancel all other wedding venue viewings after seeing Heaton House Farm, you know that this Macclesfield wedding venue had nailed it. Georgia and Ryan’s intimate celebration proved that you don’t need hundreds of guests to throw an unforgettable party. Just a killer wedding barn, a water garden, and a DJ who got people dancing before the wedding breakfast (more on that later).
The Pamper Room
I kicked off the day as their wedding photographer in Heaton House Farm’s bridal prep suite complete with full-length mirrors, where Georgia and her bridesmaids were being pampered all to the way to being wedding-ready. The room was a flurry of hairspray, lip gloss and fizz which is exactly how it should be in a bridal preparation suite.

The Cosy Ceremony
With five ceremony areas to choose from at Heaton House Farm, Georgia and Ryan went for the cosy indoor option—smart, given this is the UK and the weather you get can be as predictable as a spin of a roulette wheel. The vibe was intimate, emotional, and featured exactly zero guests checking their phones (a modern miracle). After the “I dos”, we escaped to the water garden for candid snaps.

The Wedding Reception: DJ Chaos & Table Dash Shenanigans
The Old Stableyard barn at Heaton House Farm was transformed into a proper party den, thanks to DJ Tom Finkill—a man who clearly believes dancing should start before food-induced comas set in. Between courses, he had Georgia and Ryan playing Mr & Mrs. Then came the Table Dash Photo Challenge, where guests had to sprint to the top table for the most ridiculous group shot. I’ve seen some creative ideas in my time as a wedding photographer, but the napkin bandits and human pyramid were new ones to me.

The Evening Party: Sparklers, Lifts, and a Groom Who Delivered
Ryan, determined to leave his mark on the day (since Georgia had handled everything else), pulled out the big guns: indoor sparklers. Coordinated by his best man), the sparklers ignited just as Ryan lifted Georgia during their first dance. The rest of the night was a blur of memorable dancefloor moments and impromptu limbo. My kind of party!
