Getting Ready
I’ve photographed at Nunsmere Hall a few times, and it’s always a lovely place to be. For Lizzie and Jack’s wedding, I was joined by my good friend Lynette Matthews. She helped me capture all the little moments that made their day so special. The morning started with Lizzie getting ready upstairs with her family, while Jack and the guys were downstairs watching the Liverpool derby. The groom and best man cheered for opposite teams and joked about who would win the speech battle later.

The Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was held in the Crystal Suite, a bright and beautiful room decorated with a colourful flower arch. When it came time to ask if anyone objected, only their baby Harry made some noise! Jack whispered to Harry, “I’m trying to marry your mum here,” and everyone laughed. It was a relaxed and happy moment that made the day even more memorable.

Rain or Shine, Let’s Celebrate
It was a rainy day, but that didn’t stop the fun. Family photos were taken inside because of the weather, but we snuck outside for some relaxed portraits in the woods next to the marquee, where the trees gave us a little cover. Nunsmere Hall is a great venue no matter the weather and offers plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the day. The reception was held in the marquee, decorated with bright flowers and soft purple lights, making it a warm and joyful space for everyone to celebrate.

This is what Lizzie and Jack said about their wedding:
- What were your wedding ” must haves”?
All along, we said we just wanted to have a big party, we wanted a quick ceremony and to just get dancing with our family and friends! We knew we wanted to keep the dance floor full all evening and that was definitely the case! There were lots of crazy dance moves going on. I think ‘Fireball’ stole the show…. This was a big part of the night because Jack’s mates dressed him up on his stag do to Cologne as Pitbull. We knew we wanted our final song of the night to be ‘September’ by Earth, Wind and Fire as our wedding as the 20th September and in the song, it mentions the 21st night of September so the idea was that the clocks would be turning midnight…. To the 21st of September. It was also the only way I could get Jack to remember the wedding date…. - Styling your wedding: how did you personalise your big day?
After setting our wedding to be late September, I knew I wanted our main colour to be Burgundy as it is an autumnal colour and it’s a colour that Jack suits so much. While searching for inspiration for bridesmaids’ dresses and wedding venue decor, I stumbled across a photo of bridesmaids in burgundy dresses with bright bouquets. I knew this was what I wanted. The bright flowers helped to bring that little bit of summer to our wedding. They certainly helped to brighten up our rainy wedding day. Sharon from Cover Story really helped to bring my vision to life for our venue decor and it was even better than I could have ever imagined. - Describe your wedding dress. Was it the style you thought you’d have?
My wedding dress was my dream dress! I’d seen my dress on Instagram, on a few wedding dress boutiques and said to myself That’s the one! I only went to one bridal shop. I went with my twin sister, who was my maid of honour and my mother-in-law. I tried on a few dresses that were the complete opposite of the dress that I had seen online. I did this because so many people were telling me that I’d say yes to the dress and it would be completely different to what I had in mind. This definitely was not the case. I finally decided to try my dress on and cried as soon as I saw myself in the mirror. It most definitely was MY dress!! - Wedding Photographer: How did you find me/ choose me?
We found Thomas at the Liverpool wedding fair at the exhibition centre. We hadn’t long chosen and booked our venue and didn’t really know where to start with choosing a photographer. Neither Jack or I really like being in front of a camera and we knew that we didn’t want to spend long taking photos on our wedding day, and we knew we didn’t want any cheesy photos either. We fell in love with Thomas’ work as soon as we saw his photographs. They were exactly what we wanted. Thomas’ style of photography captures every emotion throughout the day and captures the fun and party! - What was the ceremony like?
Our ceremony was perfect! No one objected, so we cracked on! When we were saying our vows and exchanging rings, our little boy, Harry started to get unsettled. Jack turned round and said ‘hey mate, I’m trying to marry your mum here’. This cracked everyone up and let Jack and me relax a little bit. We all still talk about it now, everyone said that was the best part of the day. - Tell me about your drinks reception, speeches and wedding breakfast.
Our drinks reception was lovely, seeing all of our family and friends together. Despite it being one of the wettest days of the year, everyone was happy and having the best time. We still managed to get pictures outside, 4 minutes if I’m right…. Our speeches started off by my dad, who had the entire room in tears after talking about my mum who passed away 10 years ago. Jack then gave his groom speech that was lovely and he could finally relax after. Then it was time for the best man’s speech… I was nervous for this one… to give some context, Jack and Daniel have been best friends since they were little boys and get up to no good whenever they’re together. They’ve travelled across Asia together and been on many lads’ trips to Europe with their big group of mates. Jack was Daniel’s best man in August and was surprisingly kind in what he said, however we knew this wouldn’t stop Daniel from telling all sorts of stories. But Daniel was kind too, much to my relief. - What was your first dance song? Why is that song special to you? Our first dance song was ‘Adore U’ by Fred Again. We both fell in love with this song around the time we got engaged in Barcelona. We knew it was going to be our first dance, and our son was even born to this song! It has a very special place in our heart!!
