I’m Thomas, a documentary wedding photographer based in Stockport. The Peak District is on my doorstep and Derbyshire is one of the areas I reach most easily from home. It’s also a part of the world I have a personal connection to.
My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive throughout. I’m there to photograph your wedding as it actually happens, not to direct it. Travel to Derbyshire is included as standard with no additional costs.
The Peak District gives Derbyshire weddings a distinctive character. There are converted farm venues, country house hotels, spa hotels with grand architecture, and more intimate properties that suit smaller celebrations. The landscape is part of the appeal for many couples, and whether you’re indoors or out, it tends to come through in the photography.
Derbyshire also attracts couples from across the North West and beyond who want a setting with a bit more space and scenery than a city venue can offer. It’s well worth the drive and I’m always glad to be shooting here.
Hargate Hall is the Derbyshire venue I know best, and not only because I’ve photographed weddings there. It’s also the place I got married myself, so it’s somewhere I know better than most. I’ve also photographed weddings at Thornsett Fields Farm, The Maynard in Grindleford, The Old Hall Hotel in Hope, and The Palace Hotel in Buxton, as well as a number of private garden and pub weddings across the county. Roman Lakes in Marple sits right on the Peak District boundary and is a venue I know well, having covered several weddings there.
The Crescent in Buxton is a venue I’m yet to shoot at but would love to. If you’re planning a wedding there, get in touch.
Here’s a look at some of the weddings I’ve covered across Derbyshire and the Peak District.
As well as Derbyshire, I cover weddings across the wider North West and beyond. If you’re planning a wedding in Cheshire, Manchester city centre, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, North Wales, or Liverpool and Merseyside, get in touch. I also photograph destination weddings abroad, including in France, Belgium, and Switzerland.
Yes. Hargate Hall is a venue I know particularly well. It’s also the place I got married myself, so it’s somewhere I know better than most. I’ve also photographed weddings at Thornsett Fields Farm, The Maynard, The Old Hall Hotel and The Palace Hotel in Buxton, as well as a number of private garden and pub weddings across the county. If you’re planning a Peak District or Derbyshire wedding, get in touch and I can let you know whether I’ve worked at your venue before.
No. Travel to Derbyshire is included as standard and I don’t require accommodation. There are no additional costs on top of my packages for Derbyshire weddings.
