I’m Thomas, a documentary wedding photographer based in Stockport. Greater Manchester is home territory for me. I’ve been shooting weddings here for 15 years, from city centre ceremonies to outdoor receptions on the edge of the borough, and I know the area well.
My approach is relaxed and documentary throughout. Whether it’s a grand town hall ceremony, a DIY wedding in a community hall, or a country house hotel on the outskirts, I’m there to capture what actually happens rather than staging something for the camera.
Stockport is my base and it’s an area I know particularly well. Stockport Town Hall is the venue I’ve covered most often here. It’s a stunning Edwardian building with several ceremony spaces, and I have a dedicated page with a full gallery if you want to get a feel for the rooms. I also offer a short coverage package specifically for Town Hall ceremonies, which works well for couples having an intimate ceremony there. You can find more on the Stockport Town Hall page.
Roman Lakes in Marple is another venue I know well, with several weddings covered there across different seasons. Chadkirk Chapel is a beautiful ceremony venue that pairs brilliantly with Roman Lakes for the reception. It’s a combination I know well and have covered several times. Other Stockport venues I’ve worked at include Stockport Plaza, Hyde Bank Farm, Bramall Hall (currently closed for restoration), Oddfellows on the Park, Village Hotel, and Heaton Mersey Community Centre.
Here’s a look at some of the weddings I’ve covered across Stockport.

Across the wider borough I’ve covered weddings at a good range of venues. Didsbury is an area I return to regularly. The Didsbury Parsonage is a venue I know well and have covered several times, and I’ve also worked at Didsbury House Hotel and No.11 Didsbury House in the same area.
Other Greater Manchester venues I’ve worked at include The Aviary, Sale Town Hall, and Ashfield House. My Greater Manchester portfolio also includes a community centre DIY wedding and an outdoor wedding that coincided with the Naked Bike Ride, which made for a memorable set of photos. If your venue isn’t on this list, get in touch and I’ll let you know if I’ve worked there.
Here’s a selection of weddings I’ve covered across the borough.
As well as Greater Manchester, I cover weddings across the wider North West and beyond. If you’re planning a wedding in Cheshire, Manchester city centre, Lancashire, Derbyshire, North Wales, or Liverpool and Merseyside, get in touch. I also photograph destination weddings abroad, including in France, Belgium, and Switzerland.
Yes. I’m based in Stockport and cover weddings right across the borough, from Didsbury and Sale through to Wigan, Bolton, Bury, and Salford. If you’re planning a wedding anywhere in Greater Manchester, get in touch and I’ll let you know if your venue is covered.
Pretty well. Stockport Town Hall is one I know particularly well. I have a dedicated page with a full gallery if you want to see the spaces, and I also offer a short coverage package for Town Hall ceremonies. Other Stockport venues I’ve covered include Roman Lakes, Bramall Hall, Stockport Plaza, Chadkirk Chapel, Oddfellows on the Park, and Village Hotel. Chadkirk Chapel paired with Roman Lakes for the reception is a combination I know well and have covered several times.
Very much so, and they tend to be some of the most enjoyable days to shoot. A DIY wedding in a community hall, an outdoor ceremony, a festival-style reception, couples who’ve written their own vows and printed their own order of service. These are days where people are relaxed, present, and not worrying about whether everything looks perfect. That fits naturally with my documentary approach, which is about capturing what makes your day yours rather than a version of someone else’s wedding.
Still have a question or want to check your date? Get in touch and I’ll get back to you.
