I’m Thomas, a documentary wedding photographer based in Stockport. Cheshire is on my doorstep — most venues in the county are within 30 to 40 minutes from me, and it’s one of the areas I cover most regularly.
My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I’m there to photograph your wedding as it actually happens, not to direct it. No posing, no interruptions, no stopping the speeches to get a better angle. By the end of the day you’ll have a genuine record of how it felt, not a set of photos that could have been taken at any wedding.
Cheshire has a good mix of venues. There are working barn conversions that manage to feel relaxed without being rustic for the sake of it, country houses and halls that give a wedding real occasion, castle venues for couples who want something with a bit of drama, and smaller, more intimate spots that suit couples who want to keep things low-key.
That variety means Cheshire works well for a lot of different kinds of weddings, and I’ve shot most types across the county over the years.
I’ve photographed weddings at venues right across Cheshire. Sandhole Oak Barn in Congleton is one I know particularly well — it’s a venue I’ve covered in all seasons and across a wide range of wedding styles. You can see a dedicated gallery and more information on the Sandhole Oak Barn page.
Other Cheshire venues I’ve worked at include Shrigley Hall, Peckforton Castle, Nunsmere Hall, The Oak Tree of Peover, Merrydale Manor, Heaton House Farm, Owen House Wedding Barn, Larkspur Lodge, and The Plough Inn at Eaton. If your venue isn’t on that list, get in touch — there’s a good chance I’ve shot there or know it well.
Here’s a look at some of the weddings I’ve covered across the county.

As well as Cheshire, I cover weddings across the wider North West and beyond. If you’re planning a wedding in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Derbyshire, North Wales, or Liverpool and Merseyside, get in touch. I also photograph destination weddings abroad, including in France, Belgium, and Switzerland.
No. Travel to Cheshire is included as standard and I don’t require accommodation. If anything unusual comes up I’ll always be upfront about it, but for Cheshire weddings there are no additional costs on top of my packages.
Pretty well. I’ve photographed weddings at a range of Cheshire venues and covered a lot of ground across the county. If you’re planning a wedding at a venue I know, I can give you a good sense of how the day typically runs and what to expect.
Not at all. I’m based in Stockport and cover the whole of the North West, as well as destination weddings abroad. Cheshire is one of my most regular areas, but I travel widely for the right wedding.
It depends on the distance between the two locations. If you’re both getting ready within a reasonable distance of each other, we can usually make it work. Get in touch and I’ll give you an honest answer based on your specific venues.
Still have a question or want to check your date? Get in touch and I’ll get back to you.
