There are some really great wedding venues in the North West. I was excited when Rachel and Steven asked me to photograph their wedding at Styal Lodge, situated on the grounds of Styal Golf Club in Cheshire. This one is well known amongst photographers around Manchester.
As a born and bred Frenchman, I do sometimes struggle to understand people and I had a feeling it would be one of those days because the groom was a born and bred Scotsman…
I even watched Trainspotting the night before to practise. It didn’t help!
The speeches from the groom and the three bestmen seemed to be very funny. Everyone was laughing but I genuinely couldn’t understand a word of it. When I mentioned this to some of the guests, they just replied “We didn’t either”.
Food from three continents
Who would have thought you could have a mixed buffet of Indonesian, American and Italian?
This could sound crazy to any food lover but yes I did mix the three on my plate: Burger, slow cooked curry and mozzarella. Sometimes, you have to just go for it!
A big thank you to Rachel and Steven for letting me be part of their big day. This is the review that they have left on my Facebook page:
Thomas photographed our wedding 2 weeks ago- we chose Thomas because when we met him he was so easy to get on with, he had a lot of useful advice, the examples we saw of his work were amazing and he made us laugh and that’s just the type of person we wanted to spend time with on our big day. On the day Thomas was exactly as I remembered, he was lovely to be around, he made us and all our guests laugh and he felt like a guest himself, he was completely unobtrusive made a huge effort with our guests in particular our 2 year old nephew, Thomas played with him for a while and let him look a pictures of himself which was an amazing touch. We’ve had so much feedback from guests about how much they loved Thomas on the day.
We saw all the photos Thomas took on the day yesterday and they are absolutely incredible. He’s captured the whole essence of our day, we flicked through every single picture with a huge grin on our faces. We are absolutely thrilled. All the natural shots he’s captured are completely priceless to us – we didn’t want lots of overly posed photographs and all the natural moments of laughter and emotion he caught are beautiful and make us feel the emotions of the day all over again. We could not recommend Thomas more highly!
On the day, I had the great pleasure to work with some talented people such as Simon and Anne from Creative Camera.
