Nicole and Carl wanted a barn wedding and what better place than Sandhole Oak Barn to celebrate their biggest day! It was the lake and stunning sunset view which sold the venue to the bride.
Having not been back since last year, I was pleased to see the latest addition to the grounds, The Shepherds’s Hut where the groom and his best man could get ready, along with the show stealer of the day: Hugo, the French Bulldog who got dressed up in a matching bow tie!
After the wedding breakfast, I took the bride and groom out for a walk (with the dog!) I always choose to keep the portrait session very natural and my instructions were very simple: “You can do anything you want”. Nicole and Carl were very good at this, wanting to go in the field, climb over a fence or jump on a tractor. None of the photos below were staged by me!
Back into the barn and it was already time for the cutting of the cake and the first dance. It wasn’t long before the bride and groom were doing shots on the dance floor. The whole day was a laid back and yet lively occasion!
