Victoria Warehouse has been on my list of wedding venues I’ve wanted to work at for a long time. This unconventional venue situated in Old Trafford offers a unique modern industrial background in the form of a converted cotton mill. The building has two floors of bars and rooms to accommodate events and weddings from low key to very large scale.
Bridal prep in Castlefield
I joined Leah, her mother and bridesmaids at The Lock Keepers in Castlefield. The bride had rented the AirBnB house for the weekend where Jodie, the make-up artist could work her magic in the morning. The house was a beautiful historic building with original features, plenty of soft winter light and a cityscape background – a real treat for a photographer to work with!
Didsbury wedding ceremony
Leah and Mike chose the church of St James in Didsbury for their union as this is where her parents also got married. The ceremony was followed by a drinks reception in the pub next-door, Ye Olde Cock Inn. We took a few minutes away from the crowd for a walk in the Didsbury Parsonage Gardens and for some stunning relaxed portrait photos of them before heading to Victoria Warehouse.
Party with The New York Brass Band
Being a trombone player myself, I was very excited when they mentioned they had booked the New York Brass Band to crash their first dance. They started the dance with a soundtrack before the band sneaked into the room and started playing over the music. It was a great surprise for the guests and an amazing party to photograph!
